Our Story
Emily was born and raised in Denair, California by parents Rusty and Lisa. She has two older siblings, Justin and Katie. She earned a Business degree in Turlock at California State University Stanislaus. After graduation she moved to New York City by way of New Jersey (where she met her now sister-in-law, Jessica). Although initially focused on Theater Arts she pivoted into Television Production and has enjoyed a varied career working with Barbara Walters, National Geographic, Dr. Oz and producing many documentaries for a variety of networks. She is currently a producer for ABC News 20/20. During 2020 Emily decided to move closer to family and purchased a home in Denair only blocks from her parents and sister’s family.
Terah (Bishop) was raised in Brownsville, Texas with his younger sister, Sherisse’ by parents Terah and Sheralyn. He was the drummer in a Christian rock band with his close friends/brothers Ryan, Marcus and Chris Moore and toured throughout the US. Although initially focused on joining the music industry, Bishop fell in love with audio mixing, specifically audio for TV and movies and graduated from Full Sail University in Florida. He moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. After accepting an Assistant Re-recorder Mixer position at Skywalker Sound he moved to the Bay Area in October 2020.
Emily “liked” Bishop’s photo on the dating app Hinge and after a few zoom dates they met in person to watch a live stream of a podcast (such millennials) and haven’t had a free weekend since.
The Proposal
Bishop proposed on December 17th on the front porch of Emily’s home in Denair, where they met in person for the first time almost a year before. She was totally shocked and even asked him to get her Amazon package from the porch before realizing he was dropping to his knee…
